Mike Winkelmann

Also know as "Beeple," is an American artist and graphic designer. Born on June 20th, 1981 in Charleston, SC, Beeple would become a house hold name in the digital art world and played an important part in popularizing NFT's in the art world.  


Notable work

First 5000 Days:

This piece is a collage of 5,000 images created by Mike. It was sold via NFT for $69.3 Million At the Christie’s auction house in 2021. The piece was created by collaging all of his original works which he did everyday and posted online for 5,929 days and counting. This piece is the fourth most expensive works by a living artist.

The Oil Eyes This is just some eyes I drew when practicing how to use and mix oil pastels. Last semester we used them for a project and I instantly got hooked and now it's one of my favorite mediums to use when drawing.  who Is it? This piece was my final for my drawing class last semester. It was done buy using oil pastels and took me about 3 weeks to complete. The image depicts me siting at my desk and having a look of almost what seems like horror. I wasn't going on for an ominous feel at first but decided to play on it by adding a strange soft green glow in the direction I am looking at so the viewer can imagine and decide what it is I am looking at.  Red's The Way This was a fairly simple sketch that I did for my weekly sketchbook for the drawing class I was in.
